Dr Shane Gangatharan
MBBS FRCPA FRACP
Dr Gangatharan graduated from the University of Western Australia in 2001. He trained in clinical and laboratory haematology in Perth teaching hospitals as well as the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, Melbourne. Following admission to the RACP and RCPA he completed a 2-year Lymphoma Fellowship at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, Toronto, Canada.
Dr Gangatharan has an interest in general haematology including malignant haematology with multiple research papers in this field covering myeloma, leukaemia and lymphoma. He is a member of the WA Cancer and Palliative Care Network (WACPN) collaborative groups in Survivorship, as well as Adolescent and Young Adults. He is a member of the Australasian Leukaemia and Lymphoma Group (ALLG) Disease Group Committee’s in High Grade NHL and Hodgkin Lymphoma, Low Grade NHL and CLL, and Supportive Care. As a Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Western Australia he teaches medical students.
Committed to evidence based medicine, he is a reviewer of treatment protocols as a Haematology Reference Committee member for eviQ.
Dr Gangatharan has clinics at Wexford Medical Centre (Murdoch) and Hollywood Medical Centre (Nedlands). He sees private inpatient consults at SJOG Murdoch Hospital. He also works publicly at Fiona Stanley Hospital
Dr Gangathjaran is a laboratory haematologist for the pathology providers Australian Clinical Laboratories, and Pathwest at Fiona Stanley Hospital.
